I got a spent casing with my LCP. I assume it was fired from the LCP I purchased. It has a dent in it like it may have stove-piped. What did anyone elses look like. Does the LCP normally disfigure brass? I just got mine 2 days ago and haven't had a chance to fire it myself.

Thanks.

You are correct, it was fired from your gun at the factory. Some states require this, so gun manufacturers do it for all their guns to be compliant with all states. I think it is kind of like a "firing pin finger print" in case the gun is used in a crime where the bullet is not retrievable, but the casing is.

I wouldn't worry about the dent unless you start to see issues with stovepiping yourself. Someone at Ruger could have stepped on the casing ;D
