I've been looking for a LCP for a couple months now, just about gave up with all this recall stuff and high prices of the few that I have found on Gunbroker. About a week ago I start looking at Kel tec. I go into a local dealer and they have the PF9 and the P3at. I almost walked out of there with the PF9, but they wanted to give me 150 dollars for a gun that I was trading in. I knew the gun was worth at least 350 and walked out of there. The next day I stopped by a dealer that I have bought a ton of guns from that probably has one of the biggest inventories of guns in the midwest. I actually went in there looking for a Kel tec, knowing they would give me a fair trade-in. So I'm looking around, no Kel tecs, and or course, no LCP's. At this point, I'm just wanting something new, so I continue to look around for something in my price range. While I'm looking this guy comes storming in, goes up to one of the salesman, and ask for a LCP. The salesman kinda laughs and says "yeah right, those things are impossible to get right now". So another saleman goes in back, just to check. While the other guy is in back checking, I start talking to the guy who asked for the LCP. He told me that he had just called about a half hour ago and that they had just got 3 LCP's in. I'm like, NO WAYYYYYY! So about 10 long minutes goes by and the guy walks out with a little white box. Yep, It's an LCP. The salesman is absolutely clueless. The poor guy is in a hurry and this salemans cell phone rings like 5 times and he just laughs about it. Talk about professionalism. So this hole time I'm trying to figure out if they have another one in back and can't get help from anyone. A lot of the workers there like to chit chat with friends instead of helping customers. So my patience runs out and I ask for the owner of the shop. He comes out and I ask if they have anymore in stock. He dissapears for about 10 minutes, answers a few phone calls then finally walks out with a little white box. I said sold! I walked outta there as happy as could be. One of the other employees walked by and said, ohh I thought those were all sold. According to the owner, they had a waiting list over 100 people and decided to do without the waiting list because they had no idea when they would be getting anything from Ruger. So I walked outta there with the LCP and a box of shells for the gun that the other dealer tried to give me 150$ for. I'm as happy as can be. To me the Kel tec looks like a toy, this looks like a gun. Shoots good as well, put 100 rounds of wwb though it without a single jam. Very accurate for it's size. The trigger took a little getting used to, but other than that, a great gun. Ohh and prior to the recall, this shop sold over 100 LCP's. The price of the gun for 319$, which I know is a lot for this gun, but right now they are impossible to find so I wasn't complaining. The gun has a serial # 370xxx, but has the diamond stamp.
