I was literally just days away from getting my LCP when the recall hit. I was wondering, who else is waiting for their LCP? I got on a waiting list September 4 so its been over 4 months for me. Time to call the shop and make sure they are still keeping track with their list! Anyways, I am in need of encouragement or I may do something drastic like get my pre-paid money back and just shell out and extra couple hundred for a Kahr PM9.

Don't go for something you don't really want.

I've been waiting a while myself and I'm waiting it out. I've been monitoring the posts here in the forum pretty closely and it sounds like the LCP's are starting to flow freely again.

If you are on a list at a place that usually gets plenty of product you won't be much longer either IMO.

I "got in line" with an online distributor November 16th. Buying one locally would have been a problem since every dealer in my area seems to be a Kel-Tec devotee. Because of that I will not reward them with the new purchase.Simply the transfer fee.
Merry Christmas to everyone.

I'm looking now. Patiently. I could get one at Gander Mountain, but I think I can beat 350 bucks by being patient. We'll see if I can hold out. Impatience for the LCP led me to a great deal on an SR9, though. Used, never fired, recall done, 3 mags, all black, for $389. Sweet gun! :)

My search bot (software search robot) occasionally discovers lightly used LCP's for sale at a good price. Early on in this forum's life there was some concern about posting these links on our forum so we suspended providing links. If I am a member of the forum where they appear I will PM the seller to post it here. If not and I have the time, I become a member and do similarly.

At the time we suspended posting the links, we were going to reconsider the policy. Where do we stand on this policy? I would be glad to resume these posting if the policy changes and the members want this service.

I pick mine up tomorrow, unless it's snowing too bad to drive the 60+ miles, then it will be Tuesday.

I've also been checking here daily to see when the LCPs are flowing again. I've been waiting since October 15th for a prepaid LCP at Bass Pro. I paid $299.99 plus tax on my Bass Pro card and I've already paid off the card. I was a little concerned since Bass Pro sent me a letter last week telling me of the recall, but it came from the corporate offices and not the local store where I'm on the prepaid waiting list. Does anyone know if the "371" S/N's are shipping or is Ruger sending out repaired "370" pistols? Great Forum. Thanks and regards.

I guess I wasn't patient. I picked up a 370 with diamond today at Gander Mountain. The best price I could get anywhere else was 319, and that was for a vapor gun, and no one knew when they would get new ones. I got a 10 dollar gift card, a gun sock, and a year warranty, along with a certificate for a free deep cleaning and inspection good for anytime the first year, so I don't feel as bad for not waiting. A bird in hand....

I got a call from Bass Pro today, they received 17 LCPs on Saturday. My order will be filled. Looks like they are "370's" that have been reworked.

Many series 370- are new build, not reworked. There was nothing wrong with the part that contains the serial number. There were quite a few in stock when production was suspended until delivery of the new parts. When production resumed the part containing the 370- number was used up before beginning to use the 371- part holding the serial number.

Furthermore, 371- = 370- + diamond,
whether recall processed with diamond
or new production 370- with diamond
or 371- without diamond.

Sorry Howard, I didn't know they were the new or in-stock items. Because of the demand before the recall I assumed there were few "370's" in the manufacturing process and that the "370's" now shipping were pistols "recovered" in the recall. From your post, it seems I was in error. At my age I should know better than to make any assumptions without facts and/or data.

It is I who should apologize. I apologize for appearing to single you out. You just gave me a good opportunity. I meant to preface my "bold" statement with remarks about this idea coming up before and my attempt to get the attention of viewers who scan these threads quickly. I can understand how you picked up the idea.

I just picked up my LCP from Bass Pro (ordered it on October 15th). It is a 370-72XXX with the diamond stamp. The empty fired cartridge was dated 11-26-2008!
