OK I am 5 weeks into waiting for my LCP. Still #4 on the wait list at my Local Gun Store. Have been thinking I could get more satisfaction if I considered a few other options. The Sig P232 is my most recent consideration. LCP worth waiting for or bolt for another?

It all depends on what you're looking for. The Sig is bigger, heavier and more expensive than the LCP.

P232 / LCP:

Length... 6.60" / 5.16"
Height... 4.70" / 3.60"
Width... 1.20" / .820"
Barrel... 3.60" / 2.75"
Weight... 17.6 oz / 9.4 oz
MSRP... $629.00 / $330.00

If I was thinking about buying the larger P232 over the LCP... I'd knock it up a notch and go with a 9mm pocket pistol, such as the PM9 or PF9. Both are a little smaller and weigh a few ounces less than Sig's P232....

Thanks guys. It's hard to wait as you know. I will try to hang in there. Headed to LGS tomorrow to shoot my Mark III. Will see what's up. They have had little hope to date.

They are really two different guns, so if you have had your mind set on a LCP, I don't know how you could be happy with the Sig. (not that Sigs aren't nice)

Good thing come to those that wait. (my wife tell me the same crap)

The Sig is nice, but it's really apples and oranges. I sold my Sig--it was nice to shoot, but it was so big, I found I opted to carry my .38 more often........

Now, the LCP just goes everywhere with me. It's tiny, shoots really well, and packs a reasonable amount of firepower in a tight little package.

I thought of the Sig as a modernized PPK-s--I liked it, but it was far from irreplaceable.........the LCP is just in a class by itself. One of my co-workers offered me $150 more than I had in it........and I still have it. (He is tired of waiting too!)

Keep the faith and be patient--'cause it's really worth it.

As a member of sigforum, I am very much in love with Sigs! My dad has a p230 which is from what I understand basically the same thing as the 232. They both are completely different guns. The sig is much bigger than the LCP. I am also on the wait list and am about number 4 on mine. So my suggestion, get both! ;D

lcp is in a class by itself, along with another brand similar. I love mine, but not my 24/7 go to gun. My PM9 is my 24/7 carry. I just want that 9mm firepower and I am perfectly able to pocket carry it...Hold out and get one, and then you can always go to a bigger caliber if u desire. Lots of lcp's riding in people pockets today. can't beleiv ehow many Ruger has pumed out in such a short time..
