FWIW Here is a very interesting (to me) look at the ballistics of several .380 self defense loads.
I have always been a dyed-the-wool Hydra-shoc man based on their proven results in all the "Stopping Power" data from real life shootings (BYT including .380 caliper) I carry it in my "home defense" Sig P220 and my concealed carry Taurus PT 745 (Until I receive my LCP)
Interesting that this tester was "Underwhelmed" by the Cor-bon DPX .380 penetration results.
As with all things in life "Advise is worth what you pay for it" and this advise costs you Zero!
Take a look. It's interesting.
