Well I just got my LCP today, finally. This is my first carry gun. All other hand guns I own are full size. When I rack the slide (no clip or ammo) It's smooth as butter. When I install the clip with ammo and rack the slide it almost takes a tad more force than my other full size hand guns. Is this normal? The ammo is Hornady. I have field striped the gun and cleaned and lubed it. I used Rem Oil. Some people seem to hate it, others love it. Thanks for any input.

when you rack the slide is it feeding the round ok???If it is , don't worry about it, just go out and shoot it some . Grease the slide rails up and put some rounds down range to get the gun running right. I would not even think about a defense round until this gun was shooting fmj ammo correctly--all the time to. Then pick your defense round and test for reliability. BREAK IT IN WITH FMJ AMMO FIRST. from trying to read what you posted, it doesn't seem like you have any issues to speak of...
