Ruger stopped production?

I was told yesterday that Ruger had stopped production of all new LCP's until further notice. This is from someone that said they called the factory.

Sorry if this is a repeat but has anyone else heard this?

I heard, but could not confirm, that component production continues, but assembly and shipping are halted until revised parts are available. I did confirm that the revised parts are scheduled to be available around the 24th of Nov. Some of us on the forum are in the first batch to be processed for the recall, so you will be informed pretty quickly when activity occurs.
Man this sucks waiting! Mines been there since before the recall. I haven't even installed the C.T. yet......

Did buy another gun to tide me over yesterday.....not a handgun
I take it nobody has received a 371xxx serial number yet? I put a $250 deposit down on one about three weeks ago and the local shop hasn't given me a time frame when they might get any in.

It is just a guess, but I think the first new product to get into distribution will be the series 370- that use up the part with the serial number stamped on it, but is not part of the recall. It will have the diamond stamp.
I was told by Joe Cramer at Ruger that when the new parts came in they will start fixing the guns that have been sent it, and that they will use up the 370-XXXXX frames that they still have in stock first. I sent mine in last week, he said I would be looking at the end of Nov. to the middle of Dec. before I got it back.

I am glad they are making it right, and the extra mag will be nice, but it still sucks.

I hope that the new mods and upgrades wil make it more reliable and less ammo sensitive. I really want to like this gun, it is perfect for pocket carry, but it's dependablity is worrisome.

Isn't he the customer service manager or does he have a new position?

I am not sure what his position is.
I've met Mr Cramer when I took my LCP up to Prescott to get it re-milled because of the peening issue. He is the Cust Service Manager and wears other hats as a jack-of-all trades. A real stand up guy on the phone and in person... even tho he would not confirm or deny if a LCP9 or a SR9 compact were in Ruger's future.

When I got home and looked closer in my box, I found two mags that hadn't been there before. I called Joe to let him know. He said, "yeah, that happens sometimes when you leave the box laying around in a dark corner... they tend to multiply". I had two mags, now I have four....

That is why Ruger is a stand up company in my book
