A friend sent his SR9 back for recall and got back a whole new gun in about 1 1/2 weeks. I just wondered if they are taking the time to repair each gun or reserializing a new one. Anyone know yet?

OK, I'm confused. When your friend got back a whole new gun, did it have the same serial number. If so, then how does one know it is a whole new gun?
I would question that to,for so far it has been Ruger policy that when replacing the frame of the lcp instead of just restamping with the same serial number (which makes 100% alot of sense), they have not done that and then it has to go to a ffl dealer to be completely reregistered. So why would the SR9's be any different???

Course they could have made a policy change to..

Once again gentlemen, you have a whole sticky in this room to discuss the recall and collateral issues. By starting separate threads, folks are going to miss stuff and good info will be lost. Please discuss the recall in:
