If you're not comfortable with that, practice more or get a wheel gun. In a sress situation, seconds count and you don't have the time to rack the slide.

The new poll on (One In The Pipe) was merged with a poll that goes back to 2008. The majority of those who have voted so far show that they carry a round in the chamber. As stated by AZ OUTLAWS back in November 2008

Yes, one in the chamber for Elsie and I also carry my 1911 style 45acp with one in the chamber and cocked and locked. A unloaded gun, IMO, is no better then a rock.
