Ordered a Mark III Target model 10159 with laminated grips. Dealer said it would be this summer before it would be in stock. Anyone out there have this model? If so what is your valued opinion about it?

My son has the Mark III Hunter. No matter how much you spent on any Mark III, you will be getting much more gun than you paid for.
LOL.... Let us know how it works for you and some pictures, with a range report...... would be nice.

I've got the Mark I, II and a Mark III 22-45. So far so good.

I have 4 of these and I absolutely love them! They will shoot better than you just out of the box! I made on into a "race" gun for a local range .22 competition. And let me say I am driving tacks out to about 30 yards with no problem. Put a nice red dot on it and a trigger job in it!
Let us know how it works for you and some pictures, with a range report.

I've go to target models and they're super. You won't be disappointed. Sorry, I'm not familiar with model numbers. Is it a 22/45?

will do.....
I have a Hunter model. Love it so far. Very accurate.
Let me know how those laminate grips feel, I think I would like to have a set.
I bought the Mark III Hunter model. It's the same gun but weighs 6oz less than the Target model because it has a fluted barrel. This makes it easier to carry around all day while hunting. After a long day of hunting that 6oz makes a difference. As far as accuracy the reviews I read by people who own both say that the Hunter is just as accurate as the Target model. When you get ready to buy a holster check out Amazon.com. They sell one specially made for the Mark III. It is double stitched in all the places that get the most stress. It has a pocket for your extra magazine and has the Ruger Emblem embossed right into the leather. For $65 dollars it can't be beat. I've seen holsters that were of much less quality and durability selling for much more and they were not made specificity for the Mark III. It comes in two styles. One is a regular holster and the other is slotted so you can mount your choice of optics be it a scope or a red/green dot. I have a Bushnell Trophy red/green optic on mine with 5 brightness settings for both red and green. It also has 4 images. Small dot, large dot, cross hair and a circle with a dot in the center. I hope you enjoy shooting yours as much as I enjoy mine. Hope I was of some help and don't forget to check out that holster.

I have a Mark III competition model. I enjoyed shooting the gun, cleaning not so much. I just installed a kit that should make cleaning and shooting it much more fun. I'm a newbie here so I can't post a picture. Anyway looking forward to learning more from the forum.

I looked for almost two years before I found the Ruger Mark III I was after. Found this one at Williams Gun Sight Co. in Michigan:

When the Mark III first came out, the flurry to get one was fast and furious. During early production many of these pistols made it out the door with burrs and sharp edges that actually drew blood if they were left in place.
Once I got into the inside of the grip frame with needle files and stones, the above pistol shot just as well, and even better than some of the ruger Mark II's.

Eww...is that BLOOD?
Eww...is that BLOOD?
No, that's from a red marker to show where the sharp edge is.
