Received my new style spring assembly today from Ruger. When I sent mine back for the recall they didn't change out the old style recoil spring assembly. Gave Prescott LCP customer service a call, and they sent out the new style set of recoil springs, as well as a new guild rod. Great service from a outstanding company. Thanks Ruger. :)

Last week I bought a new LCP with the recall done. Does the recall processing include the new style springs? How can I tell the difference in springs?

The gun shoots very well, beyond my expectations.

Another noob,

Mine also came back with the original spring set. I received my LCP back from recall late last fall. Out of curiosity, I contacted Ruger earlier this week to inquire about the spring mod and their response was that they were unaware of any changes made to the recoil spring.

In your opinion what are the advantages to the new spring design?

No issues with my LCP. Runs great. Looks great. Just curious.

Thanks

I complained about a bent Guide Rod on my never fired by me LCP. I got a new Guide Rod and a new set of recoil springs. I put the flared end of the inner spring at the back of the Guide Rod. The new springs were 1/4" longer than the original ones.

Flared end of the spring goes towards the muzzle end.
yup flared end towards muzzle, other wise they will try and suceed in climbing over the flat portionof the recoil rod causing feed issues.
I learned THAT the hard way!

Thanks, Jocko!
seems like anymore that is about the only way I learn---the hard way.. ;D
