Many Ruger Standard owners are beginning to feel the effects of aging and their "orbs", in many instances, are not able to focus on the fixed sights involved with their early Ruger Mark Standard .22 pistols any longer.
We've seen many of those Standards where the owners have chosen to have their receivers drilled and tapped for an optics base:

This modification has gotten the Ruger Standard out of the dresser drawer and back to being enjoyed by the owner for shooting. So, if you may be considering having this done, we have but one recommendation. That being, whomever you choose to do the work, make sure they use the Ruger Mark pistol hole pattern so that any and all Ruger Mark pistol bases will fit perfectly.
