I received my new LCP today. I just ordered it on the 14th, so I guess they did set aside some for the employees. I put the shells in the closet, till my Wife and I have read every word of the manual. I feel sorry for the cans for the abuse they will get.

ruger has main folks in newport, nh, i believe prescott is the factory for some products. in my industry, employees get company products but long after it's available to customers, esp the hot products.

congrats on the new lcp, is it a 371- series pistol?

Actually it is an 370- pistol with the diamond stamp, so it was modified and test fired on 11/18/08.
I don't know why our Management sets aside new products for employees, but I would guess we would be the best group to criticize any faults, it might even be my fault!!! But I know many LCPs were purchased by my co-workers and they have to deal with the recall as many of you have to. And there is no special treatment there.
I cannot speak for our Company but as I understand the recall, it was voluntary because of a drop discharge problem. From what I was told, it passed all tests required by the government and from now on, all firearms made will be tested from twice the distance the gov't requires. So I think my job is secure for now, by the way I am just a Maintenance Technician. (We keep the machines running)

Personally, I'm going to believe the first person that come on to THIS forum with a picture of a diamond stamp on a 370 series LCP or a picture of an LCP with a 371 series serial number. ;) It is this person that I would be interested in a range report from.

I have 2 digital cameras but I can't get a clear picture of the diamond on my 370 series new LCP. It is there and it took me a few minutes to find it. I won't put a shell into it until I learn a bit more but I will post my back-yard range report as soon as I put at least 200 rounds through it.
