Being that I already have a Ruger Mark IV Competition Target with the stainless steel grip frame, I was scouting around for a Mark IV Standard mainly to make the grip frame a "host" for several other of the upper take-offs as offered by Volquartsen Custom (VC):

I've already had my Mark IV Competition Target to several local gunshows where I had a table or two rented, and many folks are really amazed at how Ruger finally fixed a problem that never really existed. 🤣 For some like myself, the Mark IV is a bit more unique over the previous versions, if only in the "upper assembly switch-ability" aspect.

Funny you should write this...

My SO has the same Mark IV Standard. We just opted to switch out the tapered barrel (which I haven't cared much for) for a bull barrel from the Volquartsen bin. I haven't had a chance to get out to the range with it yet, but I'm really looking forward to shooting this "new" Mark IV alonside my bull-barrel Mark IV 22/45!
