I've been carrying the original LCP for a long time. Never had a problem with it, great self defense tool. I switch to a Kahr CM9 from time to time. Skipped the LCP 2. MAX comes along with 10+1 time to upgrade.

First one I brought home was a dud right out of the box. Pitted extractor, rust inside slide, rust all over the place under bright light. Also, after racking the slide it would seize up occasionally. A time or two I wasn't sure I was going to be able to get it pulled back again. Back in the box it goes.

Luckily the store I bought it from swapped it out for another one. I had them crack it open and inspect it first, looked great.

At the range it went through both Federal and Blazer Brass fmj no prob, also aluminum. 150 rounds zero issues.

Unfortunately, to my surprise, it would not eat Hornady Critical Defense. 50 rounds failed horribly. Failed to extract every 3-4 rounds.

Switched to Fiocchi 90 grain XTPHP and 50 rounds ran perfectly, so I bought 150 rounds of that and I'm good.

10-15 yards fantastic. Finger pinching, no big deal, not a range gun for me. Extremely comfortable to hold, much better than both my LCP and Kahr CM9.

I prefer the 10 round mag without the finger extension over the 12. Easier to draw from the pocket for me. 10+1 is enough for me and also negates my urge to carry a spare mag.

I'm satisfied, confidence achieved. I pocket carry exclusively in a Mika holster.

I will keep my original LCP because I like having choices depending on where I'm going and what I'm wearing. It's also proven to be extremely reliable.

Hopefully my 2nd Max will hold up over the long haul too.

There is no excuse for Ruger putting out this crap. One of the guys at my range is a Ruger armorer and says that the best LCP made was the original,(Prescott, Az.) , even though there were some issues with some of them also, the LCP maxs from North Carolina are junk he says, breaking down inside of 500 rounds like clockwork....IF they even work out of the box.......just don't understand what Ruger is thinking!

I did the Galloway Precision trigger upgrade. No more pinching.

I just bought one. It didn't get through 100 rds of blazer. Mags kept dropping out. I had a 12 rd mag bottom drop out. Just dumped all the rounds on the ground. Finally the trigger would not function. Ruger sent me a shipping label. I sent it back to Mayodan. I got it back and it didn't work right out of the box. Sent it back again. I got an email from them saying that they are sending me a brand new one. So I'm waiting on it. I have an LCP II that is flawless, so I hope Ruger can get the Max to run like the II does. It's frustrating but their customer service has been friendly and responsive.

The best customer service is the one you never need to use. :)

So was Keltec's as I recall, but my Keltec was almost constantly in the mail going back and forth. They actually finally refunded my money on that piece of junk, but great customer service.

Well I got the new LCP Max back. I had to pay for the new FFL transfer. I got a guy who is reasonable. I haven't had time to test it. I threw out my 12rd mags they are junk and I will never trust them. It fired on snap caps. So it seems to be working. I haven't had a chance to run some rounds through it yet. I hope it works and isn't always in the mail.
