(CNN) -- A man angry that a family was talking during a movie threw popcorn at the son and then shot the father in the arm, according to police in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

James Joseph Cialella was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and weapons charges.

James Joseph Cialella, 29, was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and weapons violations, a police report said.

Cialella told the family sitting in front of him in the theater on Christmas Day to be quiet, police said.

An argument ensued while others at the Riverview Movie Theatre watched "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

Cialella then approached the family from the left side of the aisle and shot the father, who was not identified, as he was standing between Cialella and his family, according to the police report.

The victim was taken to Jefferson Hospital with a gunshot wound to his left arm, police said.

Cialella was carrying a Kel-Tec .380-caliber handgun clipped inside his sweatpants, police said. He was arrested and taken into custody."

You see those Kel-Tec's are known to fire when your body temp rises. Not a good feature. Get a little hot under the collar, and next think you know "BAM" you shot the guy in the arm. Darn-it...

When an unstable individual shoots someone out of flustrated anger the caliber of the firearm used is not important in my opinion.

So since he was charged with a 'weapons violation' I assume that means he didn't have a CWP that was valid in PA???

It does happen, but the stats show that it is an extremely small percentage of CCW's that violate the law in anyway. In my opinion they tend to realize that the "right" to carry is a very fragile "right" that is easily lost for even the most minor offenses. In my case I even drive my car more cautiously since I got my permit...

LCP or Kel Tec, Permit or no permit, this just shows there are idiots out there that will ruin it for all law abiding citizens. It also shows how important it is to carry to be able to defend against the idiots of the world! For the record, I do hope I am never in a situation when my family is present. I do practice at the range and carry legal just in case!
