Just purchased lcp 2 22lr and out of 100 rds of cci mini mag 40 gr had numerous failure to feed. Failure to eject and 15 failure to fire. Had 2 people at range look at casings and agreed lite strikes. So contacted Ruger. Super nice person on phone. Said would send out new firing pin assembly and retainer or i could send pistol to ruger. I opted for parts sent to me bit since they are same parts as what the pistol has in it now how will this fix the problems?

Great to hear you figured it out that it was the gun and you have parts on the way.
I only shoot CCI Mini-mag in my seven 22 pistols and two 22 rifles. It's the best you can buy!
Not an LCP, but I recently had a similar problem with my Mk IV Target....mostly failure to fire and it was constant. It failed more than it fired. It's only had a few 100 rounds since new, so I opened it up and took a look.

Turned out there was a heavy build up of wax and powder residue in the notch where the ejector sits and across the top of the frame where the slide rests. It was holding the slide back just a teensy bit and causing light strikes.

Cleaned it thoroughly with a dental pick and nitro solvent and next trip to the range showed the problem to be solved. I did do a full cleaning while I was at that.

If the firing pin assembly is faulty a new one should fix issue.
I own an LCPII. I had the firing pin replaced. it was broken in two, but you could not tell until you broke/stripped the pistol down. Replaced the FP and have had no problems since.
I bought my LCP2 22LR used. I cleaned and lubricated it and it fires anything I put in it.
If you are getting problems with one brand of ammo, try a different brand.
I've read all the horror stories on internet forums so I tried real hard to see if mine would malfunction. Nope.
In fact, I trust it enough to carry it at work in my pocket. On my .380 LCP2 the finger rests on the magazine print in my pocket enough that any gunner would notice, and since it's against company policy to carry I've got to be discreet.
I figure 22LR beats a folding knife any day.

My only issue with the one I had was premature lock back of slide, which I fixed and a trigger I couldn't pull unless I used 2 fingers.
My wife's LCP2 does not like mini mags or CCI standard. It will run Thunderbolts all day no problem.

Thunderbolts are known to be very dirty ammo.. Good luck to her. Buy cleaning rags soon.:)
