(CNN) -- A man angry that a family was talking during a movie threw popcorn at the son and then shot the father in the arm, according to police in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

James Joseph Cialella, 29, was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and weapons violations, a police report said.

Cialella told the family sitting in front of him in the theater on Christmas Day to be quiet, police said.

An argument ensued while others at the Riverview Movie Theatre watched "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

Cialella then approached the family from the left side of the aisle and shot the father, who was not identified, as he was standing between Cialella and his family, according to the police report.

The victim was taken to Jefferson Hospital with a gunshot wound to his left arm, police said.

Cialella was carrying a Kel-Tec .380-caliber handgun clipped inside his sweatpants, police said. He was arrested and taken into custody.

As usual, the anti gun folks will get it wrong and try to disarm folks like us because of this.

But the truth, as most of us here know, is that this is further proof that properly screened ordinary citizens NEED to be authorized for concealed carry just as we are now in most states.

Someone like this dirt bag could open up at any time and in any place when least expected. Some kook or terrorist could well have been carrying something like a couple of double stack 9mm's and opened up on the entire crowd randomly. Can you imagine the damage that could be done from the front of a crowded theater full of kids?

The thin line of defense against such things is someone like you or me.

But, like I said, you won't see that idea truth pursued in the papers or in the news.

Both have been moved to this room Gator. :)

This is a story that centers around how precarious our 2nd Amend rights are when we have nuts like this guy running around shooting people in movie theaters.

The world has always had nuts and yes, there are nuts in your own neighborhood. And that is why our founding fathers insisted everyone should have the means in which to protect theirselves and family members. A method in which to identify the nuts has not been perfected and probably never will be. Enjoy and protect our right of personal self protection in the US of A.

We all know that if the gun owner had purchased a Ruger LCP this never would have happened. LCP owners show better judgement in all cases. :D
