I was just wondering how many LCP's are out there. Mine is S/N 50xxx So I know there are over 50,000 of them assuming they started at #1?
I think you are in the ballpark. Before the recall, they were trying to ship around 100,000 the first year.RedPepper2 said:Looking at my lcp serial # I suspect Ruger released over 70,000 before the recall situation came up.
They may be very close,50,000 out of the factory and 50,000 back. ;DHowardCohodas said:I think you are in the ballpark. I doubt they are gonna scrap a gun that sold like crazy in the first year of production. Maybe the best selling handgun ever for a first year gun. Yeah, I can see a little single stack 9mm in the future or Ruger, but to scrap the LCP was be a very bad business decision.skywagon said::Hang on to them, even if they don't work as I have heard they may scrap them and go back to the drawing board and start on a tiny 9mm, then yours will become a collectors item lol! ;D ;D ;D
