It's your forum. It's a blank page now. Make it what you want it to be. Feel free to make suggestions. Enjoy!

I think that this forum could really take off, but it needs to show up in Google and Yahoo searchs for "LCP Forum" or "LCP Info" and the like. Currently I can't find it using a search engine and the searches go to posts in other forums that in turn are pointing here. Drive traffic by getting it able to be found by search engines!

Love the forum BTW, there was a need for this with the popularity of the LCP!

Google search "ruger lcp forum" our forum comes up #73.
Google search "lcp forum" our forum comes up #87.

I think this is pretty reasonable considering the short time the forum has been up. 5 days, I think.

I agree that it is not bad, but I never get past page one of hits before I search again, though I do at times manage to hit page two of results I suppose. :D I work on computers, I have no patience I suppose!

I suppose as the word spreads and there are more posts are on here we'll move up naturally pretty quickly.

www.lcpforum.com and www.lcppistolforum.com have been registered and parked on www.elsiepeaforum.com's domain. This will help search engine results, but it always takes a little while to generate.
My original post had several objectives. First, to point out that, in fact, the forum had made it to Google. Second, that it was within "viewing distance" in only 5 days. Third, that the search terms had nothing to do with the forum domain name, but the forum content.

As content improves and references from other sites proliferate, I see no reason that the "viewing distance" should not decrease. At or near the top is our goal. A site's position in a search engine has more to do with non-viewable content used by search engines to evaluate relevance with respect to search terms than it does the domain name.

The importance or even relevance of a domain's name is commonly misunderstood. Except for special cases like company names and trademarks, it is nearly irrelevant. Few people come to a domain because they remember the name. Rather they saw a hot link somewhere and clicked it. Unless your advertising is non-computer (e.g. billboard, TV), it is not typed into the address bar. The registering of similar domain names, as this forum's owner has done, is an appropriate defensive strategy.

Bottom line... If we want the forum to be successful we should make an effort to provide it with content that will attract others and we should point people here from other sites.

As a matter of fact, I have been and will continue to refer others from other gun sites over to here. I have a good feeling about this site, I can see it growing large and growing fast. ;D

With 100,000 units scheduled for the first year, we certainly have a target rich environment. 8)
