Gosh, it seems we have a common bond--our preoccupation with a pistolet that isn't done maturing. The Colt SAA and original 1911s left plenty of room for improvement as well, but they seem to have prospered despite that.
Thanks for the opportunity to listen and learn. I'd owned my Elsie for all of 3 weeks before I got the news. Mine seems to work well, but I suspect a mag extension could make her more finger-friendly. It will also put more stress on the mag release, so we'll see how that goes. At least I've got lots of company and we can work our way through this process together.
