After doing quite a bit of reading I figured it was time to share...

Picked my LCP up at the Northern Indiana gunshow two weeks ago. Paid $300+tax. It was the only one at that table. Another table had three going for ten bucks more, but I also bought a Colt Defender from the same guy.

On the way home I stopped at the local shop and picked up two extra mags ($26 ea) and a couple boxes of WWB.

The following day it's out to the range!!!
19 rounds. Broken. Sent it back to Ruger last week. :-\

Specifically, pulling the trigger will bring the hammer back, but the hammer never drops. Disassembled, cleaned, poked around...no use. I have full faith in Ruger making the gun right. In fact, I even picked up another mag today for when I get my gun back. Oh well; I'm patient.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune.

But, if it is any consolation, you are not alone.

My pal and I both bought ours from the same shop.

Mine about a week after him.

I've put 500+ rounds through mine and it works great!

His has had less than 100. It jams almost every 6 shots.

And the slide sticks about 1/4 of an inch to the rear and has to be shoved into place.

He's sending it back to Ruger this week.

I'm sure it will be made right.

Hey airmotive, welcome to the forum! I used to think I was the only one able to pick a lemon out of a thousand :D Sorry to hear about your problems, my experience with Ruger has been very positive and I know you will love your little LCP when you get it back!

MIke
