On the mag, push the little button in with something like a punch. I used a pen.
Then slide the plate forward a little while keeping your thumb over the opening to keep the footplate and spring from flying out across the room. Then go ahead and remove the old plate while covering the spring with your thumb.
Then push the new extension on until it locks in place. Pull back and forth too be sure the little button had locked in the extension's hole.
You can use the new footplate that came with your extension if you want. Just be sure to remove the old one first. I just used the same on that was already attached to the spring and left the new footplate off.

Well that was easy enough. Now I see what everybody has been talking about on the gap that looks like crap. I remember seeing a solution for that somewhere, I think.

I think it was an o-ring. Prolly can do a search here and find it. Seems there was a particular size that best filled the gap.
i believe you are correct, but i am not sure as to the size of the o-rings. you may have to go really small and double up to find the correct size.

someone on the forum has used them to fix their problem, i just can't remember who.

i don't have extensions on my LCP, i just curl the pinky under the bottom for now.

i think the original problem had to deal with making their magizine operate better and not the extensions --i am really not sure though.

you might want to pm jocko to see if he knows the answer, jocko has extensive knowledge with kel-tecs and since the pistols are similar maybe the problem has been addressed on the kel-tec forum in the past.

best regards,
x

I can only assume you are using a Kel Tec extension. Did you realize that Ruger and Pearce are making extensions now that don't leave the gap? They are a good fit, at least the Pearce is. I haven't actually seen a Ruger extension yet.
