I put over 100 rounds through my new Elsie today. I found some Blazer ammo for about $14 per box so I bought some to see how they performed. I shot an entire box without a single problem. I also put a box of Magtech ammo ($17 per box) through it with no problems. Same with some Winchester ammo. However, a friend gave me some jacketed holow point ammo that he purchased at a gun show and it gave me all kinds of problems. I could not even run 2 mags through without multiple failures. The slide would not close fully even when I tried to push it forward manually. I am going to polish the ramp but I am not sure this will fix the problem. Overall, I am very pleased with my Elsie.
