Do you carry in your house?

I strongly support our rights under the second Amendment. I also live in the NOW which in my case is the formerly great state of Calif. Fortunately, I live in one of the few Calif counties where you can obtain a CCW. In Calif a CCW is issued by either the local Sheriff or Jan some very rare situation by the chief of police of the city you reside (these situations are now almost non existent). Although each county sheriff issues the CCW the permit is valid throughout the state. Just to put this in perspective - at last count there are a total of seven (7) people currently issued a CCW in San Francisco County. One of them is Diane Feinstein. In addition, Calif does not recognize the CCW from any other states. I could go on and go in to great detail about the various other restrictions we deal with here in Calif but I think you get the idea.
yep CA is one of 10 places in the USA where I cannot carry my gun legally...... Diane Feinstein, that explains everythign right there, I think I just threw up in my mouth a little...

Yes. If it's not within arms reach it doesn't do me any good.

No because I have no reason to where I presently live, A gated community that has not seen a break in during the 17 years that I have lived here. Would I if my circumstances where different HELL YES.
You are kidding right? Any neighborhood can get hit with a burglary, forcible rape, home invasion, or just a mentally ill nut-job that lives on the same street. I would suggest to not get complacent. All types of people come into gated communities, handymen, lawn workers, delivery trucks etc. I was in the Professional alarm industry for almost 30 years and saw thousands of break ins, robbery, rape etc.

LOL No he's not kidding. You saw all that because of the nature of your business. We haven't had an incident on my Cul De Sac in 20 Years. The average upper middle class citizen lives in a Green Zone that extends to their place of employment. They shop in Publix Stores and high class malls where there's plenty of security. High Real Estate Prices and Zoning Laws have long ago pushed the under privileged or great unwashed masses out to those parts of towns where no ever goes. The odds of some thug dropping by are viewed as comparable to a UFO landing.
I have lived in a quiet cul de sac neighborhood for about 10 years. About 5 houses have been built around here in that time and we have lots of car burglaries and other thefts while the construction is going on. Once the house is completed the crime stops. Doesn't take a genius to figure out what's happening.

A simple search shows 1 in 34 have property crime and 1 in 222 have violent crime in Irmo South Carolina, your town I believe. By the stats I'm safer here in Boise. Now I just have to watch out for UFO's.
My Parents used to live in a gated community in Palm Desert Ca. Everyone thought they were really safe but residents were victimized all the time. Many times the victim would keep it on the down low for fear of embarrassment. Of course the City would keep quiet also. Just sayin, Den

Re: Do you carry in your house's

LOL My problem is that I spent too many weekends in police stations and hospital emergency rooms seeing just how some of those noble savages are in their dealings with humans and stray dogs. So that is why I when ever I'm at a party or social gathering and the subject of gun control comes up I amazed at the arrogance and stupidity some folks have. That's where the Alien Concept abounds.

That's why I always have a 380 so I can. When I dress the wallet goes in one pocket the LCP in a wallet holster in the other.

Yes I carry at home. When I get up in the morning the LCP goes on my belt IWB and stays there all day. I carry in a Remora clip holster which is very comfortable. From time to time I check to make sure it is still here. I can sit, lay down, role over or what ever. It stays in place. My wife also carries when home alone. It,s a sad thing. There have been daytime break-ins while people are home.
We're another cul-de-sac family in a "changing" area. it seems we have kids checking for unlocked cars in driveways, but not much else. Still, I feel much more comforted carrying my LC9s in a pancake holster even watching the nightly news.
With the size and weight of the LCP being so diminutive, in each case, there is simply no excuse to go unprotected, even while at home.

Like jello, there is always room for an LCP.
If I have pants on, I'm carrying! Although there are several hidden throughout the house, they don't offer much if your door is suddenly kicked down.
I do sometimes.:numbness:

have stash guns all over the house
Absolutely all the time.

I don't carry when I'm in the house or out in the yard like when I'm mowing or something but I'm seriously considering making it a habit. I've got a cheap little nylon Uncle Mikes OWB holster for my Ruger LC9S but I'm in the market for a good OWB holster for the big Beretta Storm of mine. I've got one of these for it...

...but if I'm gonna carry it while outside, I need one that has a little more protection for the gun....lol.
