In light of the recent act of domestic terrorism at the Sikh temple in Wisconsin, I thought I'd ask the question.

Me: SC requires "express permission" from a pastor or leadership to carry in a church or other house of worship. I attend a LARGE church and am currently not in any leadership role. Just a face in the crowd. A few weeks ago I sent a brief email requesting "express permission". It was ignored. I leave Elsie in the car when I'm in worship.

churches are certainly places for people to focus their derision. especially if the church or it's congregation is less popular or peculiar in some way. catching a group of people you see as an enemy in one location is a tactical opportunity a crazy/evil person might try to exploit. it seems perfectly logical to me to arm yourself at church. (if legal)

Always carry in church. A number of church members are LEO's so I am sure they also carry on sunday morning.

I have in the past while living in NW Indiana. An attempted parking lot robbery (a church in nearby Gary, IN) raised some concern. One of the Elders and myself (Associate Pastor) started packing as a result. Now here in New Hampshire I have not yet found a church to call home. I now carry and will continue to carry my LCP any how. No one is the wiser as it remains out of sight.

In Washington, I did. I haven't gone to church in Utah yet, but my understanding is that the LDS church has made carry in their buildings illegal. Guess I'll just have to die with the rest of God's sheep if a wolf comes to the door.

But do you honestly think I'd be the type to just roll over and die? You know me better than that!

Between the security team and LEO's, there are at least six of us armed every Sunday with the knowledge, permission and blessing of the pastor and the church board.

I am active in our Unitarian Universalist church on Boston's North Shore. I have my CCW license and CC to church. Educating UUs to the Zen of firearm and air pistol (10 meter Olympic) is challenging at times. A friend who knows I CC told one of the board members that I do so. He asked me about it, objecting to having a firearm in the sanctuary. I told him that a) when a perp enters the church with a gun, I will try to wait until this church member is either out of the church or dead before firing on the perp and b) that he will likely never know when I am CCing and he will not be searching me. If he asks, I will have no comment. He wasn't happy and I suspect this issue is going to be revisited.

I am trying to get a friend who teaches the MA required training course to offer a deal to areas Sikh temples for discounted courses on their premises. Stay tuned.
