Crimson Trace shipped the first run of 500 units to distributors on Friday August 29th. Distributors are allocating units to dealers, 1 or 2 per dealer with this shipment. The next 2000 units are tentatively shipping out from CT to distributors at the end of September or first part of October. This is according to CT regional rep and from several distributors.

I ordered a C/T Laser through TGSCOM a bit cheaper (not much really $173 with shipping) but as of right now they have not shipped. For what it's worth there is a discount code at "Cheaper Than Dirt" for $10 off any puchase. The code is 1885-6508 8) it's my understanding that there is no limit BUT it's per order so you might be best to order Ruger Magazines for the LCP as individuals if you want a few. They have them at $18.75 so $10 is pretty good, I had a S/H charge of about $6 but that still keeps extra Mags at about $15 delivered. I've had mine (LCP) since the early summer and although not alot of chance to shoot the little gun I've put a bit over 300 down range. It's been fairly consistent no major problems, a few times the slide does not lock all the way forward and the sights are tiny, hey, that's why we are talking LG-431 :-\ but it's very pocketable and I'm not a big guy. Easy to carry in jacket for sure or front or back pocket of jeans with minimal issues. Not as comfortable to shoot as a Kel Tec PF9 (don't own a P3AT) but the PF9 is not a fair comparison although it can be carried in a front pocket and it has a 9mm punch. All my other handguns are CZ's (I have 3) and those are a pure joy at the range. Clearly the LCP is a CCW and seemingly a fine one, more to the point it's a Pocket Pistol and for that it's excellent. Now I know the argument for a larger caliber, for me, I'm no LEO and the weapon is there only as a worse case scenerio so "my" highset priority is concealment but each has his reasons to carry. I've been target shooting the past 6 years and aquired my CCP this spring. Mind you now, I'm a (potentially) armed egg-head liberal so I hang poorly on most gun discussion boards but if we avoid politics and religion, some folks here might tolerate me. So I will plant you now and dig you all later. Again, here is the code again, in case you want to pick up a 380 magazine for Elsie;

Where did you order your CT from Ooben?

Hey Warren, I ordered mine right from CT, I just couldn't wait for them to hit the shelves around here. I live about 350 miles from the CT factory, I think that's why I got mine so quick. I'm going to try to sneak out this weekend to see if I can get the bullets to hit where the little red dot is.... ;D
I buy my Crimson Trace LaserGrips from Shooters Resource http://www.shooters-resource.com/Me...de=SROS&Product_Code=LG-431&Category_Code=Rug. I have never found better prices anywhere. Price includes shipping and batteries for life. $164.95. Their next shipment is due to arrive middle of week of 9/6. I don't have any financial interest in them, I just like the way they have treated me so far.
I see you have the "clip" on your pistol...........is this because of not being able to find a holster to fit with with CT installed on it?

Hey picketeer, I'm able to use the holster my wife made, I was thinking of the CT when we designed it. I put the clip on the LCP because it works well when I'm wearing sweat pants with no pockets. As light as the pistol is (even with the laser) I have no problem with it moving around when I'm running. More often than not I have the LCP in a holster, just feel a little safer that way....
Good Deal! Why don't you show us a pic of the holster your wife made? :)

Here's some pics, my wife and I are making a different one that is open around the grip, I think that will make it easier to draw from the pocket....

Mike

Please do so. It looks quite professional.
How's this for customer service? I just got off the phone with "John" from Crimson Trace. He called just to see what I thought of the LG-431, how I found out about it, and if I had any questions or suggestions. I'm not sure that I have ever had a manufacturer do that before, a big thumbs up for CT!
I saw on some web site that the LCP Crimson Trace LG-431 has another version coming out called the Defender Series.

I don't know how it differs but if you stroll around CTC's website, you can find some revolvers for example which offer both the regular and the defender series Crimson Trace lasers. They look similar but are clearly different. It looks like it might just be a higher-impact plastic, I can't tell what all is different.

I wonder if it's worth the wait??
