Cracked clip & Smileys

I've had a clip crack after about 500 rounds. Three cracks in all. One crack in the front of the mag where it appears the feed ramp contacts it and two cracks in rear on each side of the retaining lips. I sent mag back to Ruger and they sent replacement free of charge.
I have two LCPs and a P3AT and yes each experiences the smiley effect. After the cracked clip I did some amateur smithing and machined off half the ramp on my older LCP. This was done in numerous stages so only enough material was removed to eliminate the smileys. Once the machining was complete the ramp was polished to a high luster. End result was no more smileys or cracked clips. I've shot another 350 rounds (american eagles FMJ and hornady JHP) since the modification with no malfunctions what so ever. I sent photos of my modified feed ramp next to my unmodified ramp to Ruger's Joe Kramer. He stated he would share with engineers.

Looks good to me, maybe Ruger will start doing this !!
My bet is that Ruger has done alot of this mod stuff to come up with the perfect solution. The question is,,,, will this "mod" lead to other issues. . Again guys, if the smileys bother you, peddle it. They effect nothing on the guns reliability and actually performance either. 90% never heard of a smiley before and probably 95% who own one today still don't even know what a smiley is, un less they read this forum ...
