how about the kahr PM9??Lots of great experience there, if interested PM me and I will fill you in plus some on the CW 40 which I don't own but know who does and shoots it alot and loves it.argyle said:I'm still a little hinky about complete reliance on a .380 and would like something with a little more oomph. Anyone have any experience with either the Kahr CW40 or the CZ RAMI in .40?
Same as the LCP. Recoil doesn't bother me much. For my first 25 years as a handgunner all I shot were .38/.357s. To me it is part of the experience - kinda like Wasabi would not be nearly as much fun if it didn't bring tears to the eyes and power flush out the sinuses. ;Djocko said:I can tell you this owners of the CW 40 and PM40 say that little liteweight kahr gives some recoil indeed. Be prepared when shooting the 40 cal in such a lite weight. There has to be some kind of a trade off when you go liteweight vs power..
I have a Rami in 40 caliber and did have some issues when I first bought it. It is a well known fact by now that they had some issues with the feed lips on the early magazines. This was on the 40 caliber but had no issues with the 9mm, I could not hand cycle rounds out of the two mags I received with my pistol. Folks were opening the feed lips with crescent wrenches and pliers but I simply called CZ-USA and they exchanged my mags. I haven't had an issue since. Actually I did have some feed issues with an extended magazine I bought from a guy on the CZ forum. I only use that mag for the range.argyle said:I'm still a little hinky about complete reliance on a .380 and would like something with a little more oomph. In other news, I've not looked at the two pistols, but I own a G27; Aside from going single stack mag, I can't imagine a .40 getting much smaller. I love my G27
My problem is that I have small hands and most of the compacts are too blocky for me. Both the G27/26 and XD40c feel like a chunk of 2x4 in my hand. (Ok, maybe 2x2). A single stack is probably the answer for CC. My G22 holds 15+1, and for some reason the thicker grip feels ok in a full-size gun.DesertPunisher425 said:I own a G27; Aside from going single stack mag, I can't imagine a .40 getting much smaller. It must have everything to do with hand size... the thicker grip feels great for me. Even better is the double stack glock .45!!argyle said:My problem is that I have small hands and most of the compacts are too blocky for me.
