For some reason, I was under the impression that Ruger was replacing the non blued barrels with blued barrels upon request during the recall process. I called Ruger today and the CS supervisor told me that they are not replacing/exchanging/bluing barrels.

For a second, I almost got caught up in the "he got one, I want one too" frenzy that I've been seeing. Lately, it's about the plastic case. Before that it was the $25 certificate.

I think it's kind of funny. ;D

The one I have coming is supposed to be new, but who knows till I see it? If it turns out to not have a blued barrel, I might go ahead and blue it myself. I have some Casey Birchwood blue that I used to touch up a spot on my F-I-L's old H&R 969 that had a few spots of rust. Can't hurt and doesn't show.
