Thought the forum might be interested in this article on the .380 cartridge as found on NRA's American Rifleman site:

The article mentions the LCP only in passing but has some good points to read.

It made some good points, but it missed making some other points. It only stated some "conventional wisdom" and tried to attribute it to "experts". Fact is that if you compair 'real quantative numbers' of several of the (.380 Auto) "+P" rounds with 'standard' .38 Spl., you'll find that the .380 can be every bit as effective.

It was a decent article. I will agree that when you read an article about what gun you should carry for protection you hear a lot about bigger is better. I like 45 acp and believe it is a tremendous man stopper, but there are days when I can't or don't want to carry a heavy weapon.
