I am looking at getting a Laser for my LCP, what does everybody think about Arma Laser and Crimson Trace? What one would you go with and why?

Crimson Trace hands down. And the price from the Elsie Pea Store (look up and to the right) is the best I've found.

Why "hands down"? I've never owned a laser but am interested and the new Arma Laser is getting a lot of attention and interest. I would like to know the difference; other than price. I don't care which cost more. Thanks for any feed back.

I've been waiting on the armalaser to see how it compares to the ct also. I'm not sure how anyone can give an informed opinion of the difference considering they are not even on the market yet. ??? I'll give it a couple months to get some out in the market before I decide.

I've used CT for several years, they have yet to let me down. Tried and tested. I carry a Glock pistol alot and with the Armalaser I can not use a weapon light along with the laser. I know nothing about the customer service side of Aarmalaser, but CT customer service is second to none. A real person answers the phone.

I'll stick with CT But thats whats so great about America We have options........

I know the Arma Laser for the LCP has not been out, but they have been out for other guns, and was what I was meaning with the question.

Can't speak for the ArmaLaser, but the CT on my LCP is a great accuracy tool! Whether or not I am able to activate the little button in an up-close and personal encounter with a bad guy, well, that is another issue.
"Activating that button" might be a big deal. On the other hand, you don't have to push the botton to pull the trigger. Wish someone would get one and tell us how it does. I think they look pretty cool. CT looks good on the gun but there does seem to be some concern about getting it to turn on quickly (finding the button). That would worry me if I was depending on watching for the dot.

The buton is what worries me about the CT being on such a small gun that already don't have allot of grip, it looks like it takes up allot of room and may not let you get a good hold on it. Where the AL has "touch sensor's" and you don't have to press any buttons and have a full grip on the gun.

Well being it's not out (ArmaLaser) that is there is nothing to compare. That said, I have an ArmaLaser unit on a Kel Tec PF9 and a C/T on my LCP and while neither unit is perfect both have good points. As some have come out as to great customer service with C/T as I've had no need to speak to them I will only add I had outstanding service from ArmaLaser when I did have an issue. On the bad side, there was a problem with the ArmaLaser but the big cheese called and after a few tests sent me out a new unit. The C/T unit has a more traditional laser activation, hold the botton in laser is on. Now there can be issues with where "your" fingers hit the grip, for me it placed just right and easy to activate. The ArmaLaser comes on when the finger touches a pad (again, easy for me) then the unit just stays on for 12 seconds. That might be a good thing, might not but it does add to the KISS. The unit I sent back at times wouldn't activate other times wouldn't go off, no such problems with the replacement unit. Now for the PF9 the unit locks on both the trigger guard and the rail which is very solid, not true on the P3AT or on the the LCP for the ArmaLaser so the C/T would be about the same on those guns too. However, until the C/T is available we are all just guessing.

I ordered and received my CT for my LCP, and I like it, its nice. I am not 100% sold on how "fixed" it is to the unit. I feel that with a drop or being squeezed inside the beltline may retard the accuracy, but that is just me.

I ordered the ArmaLaser yesterday and had called to ask, and they state they are expecting shipment, in 2-3 weeks. and ensured that it offers the same stability and form function of the unit for the P3-AT.

I would prefer the master power switch and finger sensitive system on the ArmaLaser then the button that is on the CT.

I will post pictures of both when the ArmaLaser arrives, if none are posted here..
I just hope they are accurate on their expected delivery dates. From what I understand Armalaser is a very reputable company.

Stay Tuned.

I received this reply from Rick Hovsepian just yesterday after I emailed about the availability of their Armalaser for the LCP.
What I asked...
Just curious, since there is no picture of the LCP with the laser sight on
it, is it in stock ready to ship. I know it probably looks like the P-3AT,
but figured you'd have posted a picture by now if it was available.

His response...
We're still waiting on one of the components in order to assemble, test
and ship. Looks like we'll have them in on January 26th and we'll start
shipping on Jan 29/30. We have everything else in just waiting on that one
piece.

Pics will go up around Jan 20th.

Now that I'm on this topic I was wondering about rear pocket carry, or any other carry for that matter, with the laser (CT or Armalaser). How easy is it going to be to knock one of these out of alignment or break it when I sit on my LCP or knock it around a little say in an inside coat pocket. I know its not ideal nor comfortable to sit on it but I have found myself doing just that a few times now. To me it would seem the CT in its stream line shape would better take the abuse. I don't have either yet, waiting for my buddy to get his CT and a review or two on the Armalaser before I rush into either. Just to clarify, I don't plan to much abuse on the LCP, but as they say "sh** happens".

This is true as I have one ordered since 10/22/08 and wondered when they would be here and he stated the other day they were still missing a part due to the holidays. Should not be too long now!

I never had an Armalaser but have or have had a couple of CTs and a Lasermax guiderod unit. I prefer the CTs to the Lasermax. I will have to check out the Armalaser when I get ready to purchase for elsie. John

I'm not sure what you are talking about. I have a CT on my LCP, on my Glock 26 (will fit my G27 but the G27 is not on my Kalifornia carry permit), and just recently on my Glock 30. With each, all I need do is grip the gun and the laser is activated. The "button" falls automatically under my grip.
