Are LCP's still being sold ?

I bought my LCP the day after the recall was announced and the owner told me up-front that there was a recall. I have since contacted Ruger an I'm on the list to send mine in. My question is does anyone know if the stores are still selling these or are they sending their 370 series guns back to Ruger? The reason I ask is after showing mine to a friend he is excited about getting one. I told him that if he has to wait for all the recall guns to be modified and then wait till Ruger starts back up producing the 371 series it could be a while. This is all just speculation, perhaps Ruger will be going right into production of the new model when the parts are available.

It would be wise if your friend would just wait for a few months, and when he goes to purchase to look for the 371xxxxxxxx series to avoid all of the hassles.

I believe that would be the best course of action.
IMHO.

My son and I went to a gun show yesterday (11/8) in Tupelo, MS. I saw 2 booths that had LCPs. I played dumb to see if they would volunteer info about the recall and neither of them offered any information. After talking with them, I asked if they knew anything about the recall...one admitted he knew, the other said he had no information concerning any type of problem with the LCP. In other words, be careful who you deal with...stick with your regular suppliers! By the way, both were asking $299 for the LCP.

Any 370- series with the diamond imprint is the equivalent of a 371- series LCP. I see no reason to discriminate between them.

Howard,
I agree , but by the time you can find a 370xx with the diamond stamp the odds are you probably could find the 371xx about the same time if not sooner-- depending if ruger is producing them. the goal is to avoid the recall hassel, and that is why i gave the advise to wait.

I saw one in a local shop not more than 2 days ago, in fact it sold while I was there. I came across this on gunbroker earlier today http://gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=114877758 8 bids and the price is at $405 currently, the recall does not really seem to be affecting the demand.

I wouldn't worry too much about it if I were you, the 370 guns will be fixed just get in line for the recall and collect your free mag. inconvenient? perhaps, but its not the end of the world :)

$405? We paid $299 OTD with a $100 gift certificate, took it to $199. More what it is worth lol! ;D ;D ;D

I guess Picketeer made a good investment in LCP's for resale.
